Statue of Liberty and Statue of Jesus

Statue of Liberty
It is located on Liberty Island in Upper New York Bay, commanding the entrance to New York City. Liberty Island, c.10 acres (4 hectares ), formerly Bedloe’s Island (renamed in 1956), was the former site of a quarantine station and harbor fortifications. The statue, originally known as Liberty the Base of the Statue is an 11-pointed star, part of old Fort Wood; a 150ft (45m) pedestal, built through American funding, is made of concrete faced with granite.
On it is a tablet, affixed in 1903, inscribed with “The New Colossus,” the famous sonnet of Emma Lazarus, welcoming immigrants to the United States. By the early 20th century, this greeting to the arriving strangers had become the statue primary symbolic message. Broadening in its meaning, the statue became a symbol America during World War I and a ubiquitous democratic symbol during World War II. An elevator runs to the top of the pedestal, and steps within the statue lead to the crown. These were refurbished along with the rest of the Enlightening the World, was proposed by the French historian gouard Laboulaye in 1865 to commemorate the alliance of France with the American colonies during the American Revolution and, according to scholars, was originally intended as an antimonarchy and antislavery symbol.Funds were raised  by the Franco-American Union (est.1875), and the statue was designed by the French sculptor F.A Bartholdi in the form of the woman with an uplifted arm holding a torch. Believed to the tallest metal statue ever made, 152 ft (46m) in height, it was constructed of copper sheets, using Bartholdi’s 9-ft (2,7m) model. It was shipped to New York City in 1885, assembled, and dedicated in 1886 statue for its centennial celebration in 1986.
The Statue of Liberty became a national monument in 1924. In 1965, Ellis Island, the entrance point of millions of immigrants to the United States, was added to the monument.
Statue of Jesus
The life and ministry of Jesus has been an inspiration to many people who encouraged her to express it in a variety of art forms. Works of art that originally evolved in the church is an icon-making saints. This iconic art evolved until now, especially among the Orthodox Church.

Adam Malik, one of the political leaders and the Indonesian government during the New Order who had been ambassador to the Soviet Union (now Russia), has a penchant for collecting the icons of saints during his duty in Moscow. Now a collection of icons on display at Adam Malik Museum in Jakarta.

In addition, the life of Jesus also expressed by Indonesian artists, like the Bagong Kussudiardja, I Ketut Lasia, Ni Ketut Ayu Sri Wardani, Sukana Kariana Gede, I Komang Revelation Sukayasa and I Nyoman Darsane in the form of paintings, by Gregorius Sidharta in sculpture, by Remy Sylado in the form of musical drama "Christ the Redeemer", by Koes Plus in the form of Christmas songs, etc..

An organization that seeks to develop Christian expression in the arts is the Asian Christian Art Association based in Manila. The membership of this organization include the artists who use the life of Jesus and the Christian faith in general as an expression of art. Some of the artists are not Christian.

In the west, the life of Jesus is expressed in a variety of films, such as King of Kings, The Robe, Jesus Christ Superstar, Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus of Monteral, The Last Temptation of Christ, The Gospel of John, The Passion of the Christ, etc.. Some of these films, such as "Superstar" and "The Last Temptation" is considered controversial because it gives a different description and interpretation of commonly accepted audience. Meanwhile, "The Passion" is considered controversial because some parts are considered to provide a rather sensitive interpretation of the role of the Jews in Jesus' death, while the depiction of torture that Jesus suffered deemed too excessive
